The Idaho Freedom Caucus (IFC) was relieved to learn that Senator Mike Lee removed his proposal in the Big Beautiful Bill to sell off millions of acres of federal lands in western states.
We firmly oppose any plan that threatens these public resources through a federal sell-off. Instead, we advocate for a balanced solution that:
1) protects Idaho’s public lands from privatization,
2) ensures fiscal responsibility,
3) allows measured natural resource extraction through leases,
4) preserves public access for hunting, fishing, backpacking, and outdoor enthusiasts,
5) boosts local and state economies,
6) Seeks long term solutions for proper management and reducing devastating wildfires.
This approach aligns with our broader vision, outlined in the IFC Vision to Strengthen Idaho, which emphasizes reclaiming Idaho’s sovereignty and liberty through local control of our natural resources. By prioritizing Idaho’s management of its lands, we aim to foster thriving local economies, ensure quality recreating spaces, and uphold the dignity of our communities, free from federal overreach.
Public lands within Idaho should first provide the greatest benefit to those who live in communities and counties where these lands are found. Local stewardship, guided by transparent public input, ensures policies reflect Idaho’s values and prioritize long-term renewable natural resources management and specific conservation control over distant federal control.
We need to give all federal land back to the states. The eastern states unfairly have to subsidize us to not use our land and the western states loose control of what is in our borders, can have the feds decide if Idahoans are blocked from public land, and the feds dictate what can or cannot be done in our forests and feds can sell off our land. The land was supposed to be held temporarily by the feds and now it has been over a lifetime of ownership/control. It is wrong morally and constitutionally for a federal government (never given the constitutional right) to hold control of the land inside a state's border instead of allowing the state and its people to decide how to use, care and protect their land. Kick the federal government out of our state and off our lands!

📡 The "Big Beautiful bill" H.R. 1 contains another worrisome provision, a hidden antenna invasion, which quietly hands telecom giants the keys to American's rooftops, telephone poles, and street lamps..... everywhere. This is incredibly dangerous! See tinyurl.com/szb4kuuc
Unfortunately, Idaho passed a similar bill in 2025: tinyurl.com/4admbe6b. We opposed it, but to no avail; it became law: tinyurl.com/yphzaaye

This 30-minute film reveals the truth about the rollout of modern wireless technologies — including how, despite lack of data on their safety, the telecom industry continues placing such devices in close proximity to living beings. And humans, plants and animals are suffering as a result: tinyurl.com/mwm6fxpw
We hope you will "band" with other legislators, as you did for the AI provisions in HR1, to oppose the telecom takeover.
