Hello supporters!
Our Idaho Freedom Caucus sent out an article earlier this week about prioritizing making Idaho the strongest 2A sanctuary state in the country. From New Mexico’s governor issuing emergency orders to suspend gun rights- to the ATF turning millions of law-abiding citizens into felons overnight with their passage of the pistol brace ban, our country’s ability to keep and bear arms is in trouble!
Idaho isn’t safe: Our Idaho Supreme Court just ruled to reject an appeal regarding Idahoans’ ability to carry firearms at private events on public property. Earlier this year, Idahoans were publicly admonished for open-carrying firearms in the 2023 Boise 4th of July parade. And now... the ATF’s proposed rule requiring those who sell firearms online or at gun shows to be federally licensed and to run background checks on buyers before completing transactions (effectively implementing universal background checks) will cripple Idaho gun shows and private sales.
Law-abiding Idahoans need assurance they will not be the target of Federal, State, or Local persecution for exercising their 2nd Amendment rights. No Idaho gun owner should ever be worried that one day they will become a felon overnight because of an arbitrary rule change by the feds.
I am asking for your help. The Idaho Freedom Caucus is taking the lead on this issue by working to improve and reinforce current language in our state law. These courageous efforts always put our members at risk for the next election cycle, but we are willing to take that heat to protect Idaho gun ownership.
